Chief Justice Pushes Higher Pay For Federal Judges

Law360 (January 5, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- U.S. Chief Justice John Roberts has renewed his call for federal judges to receive pay increases, saying that Congress risks losing great legal minds to other forums.

“I suspect many are tired of hearing it, and I know I am tired of saying it, but I must make this plea again — Congress must provide judicial compensation that keeps pace with inflation,” Roberts wrote in his annual report on the federal judiciary.
