Employment Law Issues To Ponder For 2009

Law360 (January 5, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The election of Barack Obama as president and the Democratic gains in Congress mean that employers face a new legislative, regulatory and enforcement environment on employment issues in 2009.

These political changes, coupled with continued economic troubles and growing unemployment, are likely to usher in a new wave of employment-related claims.

While the flood of wage and hour collective and class actions will not likely subside anytime soon, 2009 may also see the resurgence of traditionally less popular claims for the would-be plaintiff.
