DC Circ. Upholds OFHEO Contempt Ruling

Law360 (January 6, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal appeals court on Tuesday affirmed a contempt citation against the federal agency charged with overseeing Fannie Mae for not complying with court-ordered deadlines on document requests by three former Fannie Mae executives being sued by investors.

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit upheld the lower court's ruling against the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight, or OFHEO, saying that the lower court judge did not overstep his authority in issuing the citation and resulting sanctions....
