Corrected: CFPB Reaches $107M Settlement In World Law Group Debt Scam

Law360, New York (July 20, 2016, 3:47 PM EDT) -- Three individuals related to World Law Group’s alleged debt-relief scheme that cost consumers millions reached a stipulated $107 million settlement Tuesday with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, according to documents filed in Florida federal court.

Individual defendants Derin Scott, David Klein and relief defendant Shannon Scott agreed to a $106,813,049 suspended judgement, if they turn over the frozen assets in their personal bank accounts, a commercial property and at least a dozen vehicles to the bureau.
