EPA Targets Cemex In Cement-Industry CAA Probe

Law360, New York (January 7, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has accused cement giant Cemex Inc. of violating the Clean Air Act, part of the agency's nationwide probe into cement-industry breaches of the act.

On Tuesday, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, the EPA sued Cemex, alleging that it failed to apply for a permit for emissions-increasing modifications at its Lyons, Colo., manufacturing facility, in violation of the CAA.
