Makeup Remover Recalled Amid Bacteria Fears

Law360, New York (January 7, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Transportation amenities supplier Celeste Industries Corp. has voluntarily recalled all lots of its simplySmart “Remove” makeup removal towelettes after certain lots tested positive for Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria, which can cause a range of infections, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has reported.

The makeup remover is packaged as single towelettes and is provided as a guest amenity at Holiday Inn Express hotels throughout the U.S. and Canada, according to a Monday news release from the FDA.
