Bill Barrett Sues DOI To Stop Wyo. Coal Exploration

Law360, New York (January 8, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Natural gas producer Bill Barrett Corp. is seeking judicial review of a decision at the U.S. Department of the Interior allowing for the exploration of coal in northeastern Wyoming that the company claims will damage its natural gas wells.

BBC filed suit Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia in an attempt to overturn a federal coal exploration license allowing BTU Western Resources Inc. to drill core holes across nearly 11,000 acres of land in Campbell County, Wy.
