Options For Hedge Funds During The Credit Crunch

Law360 (January 8, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The financial crisis which is currently engulfing the world’s financial markets is putting hedge funds under unprecedented levels of pressure in terms of performance and maintenance of liquidity.

Statistics are suggesting that, year to date, performance of hedge funds is down on average by between 16 percent to 21 percent.

These negative performances, coupled with prevailing investor sentiment, have resulted in a surge of redemption requests during the third quarter of 2009 [1] from investors looking to exit from their investments in hedge funds.
