OSHA Expands Voluntary Protection Program

Law360, New York (January 9, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration has made revisions to its Voluntary Protection Program, carving out two new ways for companies to participate in a worker safety initiative.

The VPP is transitioning from administering programs that have traditionally focused on individual, fixed work sites to programs that encourage participation from companies with multiple work sites and firms that have a mobile work force, the agency said in a notice published in the Federal Register Friday.
