$6B Exelon-NRG Deal Sparks Concern In Del.

Law360, New York (January 9, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- In a filing with the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, two Delaware regulators have expressed reservations about electric utility Exelon Corp.'s plan to complete a $6.2 billion hostile takeover of power generator NRG Energy Inc.

The Delaware Public Service Commission and the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control said that Exelon had not adequately proved that the proposed takeover was in the public interest.
