Pipeline Co. To Pay $3M For Jet Fuel Spill

Law360, New York (January 9, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Explorer Pipeline Co. has agreed to pay the U.S. government $3.3 million to resolve claims arising from a July 2007 jet fuel spill near Huntsville, Texas, authorities said.

The agreement will resolve claims the pipeline operator violated the Clean Water Act when the 28-inch diameter interstate pipeline ruptured and spilled more than 275,000 gallons of jet fuel, the U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said Thursday.
