Illegal Diet Pills Pose Serious Risks, FDA Warns

Law360, New York (January 9, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers about illegal diet pills that contain undeclared prescription pharmaceutical ingredients, which may pose serious health risks.

The FDA issued a warning concerning 28 such products on Dec. 22, and updated the warning to include 41 more products on Thursday. It said that it may file criminal charges against companies that make the illegal pills.
