Judge Looks To Wipe Out Medtronic MDL

Law360, New York (January 12, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Just days after handing Medtronic Inc. a sweeping victory, the federal judge overseeing the multidistrict litigation involving the company's Sprint Fidelis defibrillator leads has demanded to know why the claims brought by individual plaintiffs in the case should not also be tossed.

On Friday, U.S. District Judge Richard H. Kyle filed an amended order to show cause, asking the plaintiffs to explain why the ruling that essentially disposed of the MDL should not apply to the entire litigation.
