AT&T Hit With Another Suit Over Booting Time

Law360 (January 12, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Former customer service representatives at AT&T call centers have sued the company for failure to pay overtime wages in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act, accusing the telecommunications giant of requiring them to show up at work early to boot their computers in preparation for taking customer calls but not paying them for that off-the-clock time.

The purported collective action, which is the latest in a string of similar suits filed against AT&T subsidiaries and other telecommunications companies, was filed Friday against AT&T Operations Inc....
