Alcon Itches For Fight Over Allergy Eyedrops Patent

Law360 (January 12, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Vision care company Alcon Research Ltd. has accused Barr Laboratories Inc. of infringing three of its patents for a prescription eye solution after the generic-drug maker filed an application to sell generic versions of the allergy product.

The lawsuit, filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, concerns Alcon's Pataday-brand solution, an eyedrops product containing olopatadine hydrochloride.
