Judge Deals Blow To Clearwater In Patent Suit

Law360 (January 13, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- In an upset for Clearwater Systems Corp., a federal judge has found that Evapco Inc.’s industrial and commercial cooling equipment did not infringe one of its patents and sided with Evapco that another patent was invalid.

Judge Stefan R. Underhill’s summary judgment ruling on Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut clears Evapco of claims that it violated Clearwater’s U.S. Patent Number 6,063,267, which covers a device for nonchemical water treatment.
