Metadata Is Not A Public Record: Ariz. Court

Law360 (January 14, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- In a suit brought by a Phoenix police officer seeking access to records related to his employment, a divided Arizona appeals court has ruled that hidden computer data generated in creating documents, or metadata, does not constitute a public record.
