Dewey Cuts Staff In US, Ramps Up In Europe

Law360, New York (January 14, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP has reportedly laid off eight associates from its Los Angeles office, the second round of cuts at the firm in as many months, while simultaneously making hires in Germany, France and Italy.

A spokesman for Dewey & LeBoeuf confirmed that the eight attorneys in question were no longer with the firm, but he declined to comment further.

The layoffs were first reported Tuesday by the legal blog Above the Law.
