Tenn. Gov. Vows Taxpayers Won't Bear Sludge Tab

Law360, New York (January 14, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The governor of Tennessee has promised that the Tennessee Valley Authority, not citizens of the Volunteer State, will foot the cleanup bill after a Dec. 22 retention pond breach sent millions of cubic yards of potentially toxic fly ash sludge spilling over 500 acres in the eastern part of the state.
