Managing Partners Have Bleak Expectations For 2009

Law360, New York (January 14, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Managing partners' views on their own firms, on the legal market and on the economy at large “plunged deep into negative territory” in the fourth quarter of 2008, despite three straight quarters of modest gains, according to a new report from the Citi Private Bank Law Firm Group.

The group's fourth-quarter Managing Partner Confidence Index, compiled from December 2008 responses from 130 law firm managing partners, sits well below the baseline at 73, a record low, the Law Firm Group said.
