Foley Hoag Announces Associate, Staff Layoffs

Law360, New York (January 14, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Law firm Foley Hoag LLP has said it is laying off 6 percent of its lawyers and staff, continuing a gloomy trend for the legal industry in the new year.

“Although Foley Hoag had strong financial results in 2008, we have concluded that a reduction in personnel is a prudent step to ensure the continued strength of the firm in these unprecedented economic conditions,” Foley Hoag managing partner Robby Sanoff said in a statement Wednesday.
