CPSC Recalls 500,000 Bosch, Siemens Dishwashers

Law360 (January 15, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall for nearly 500,000 Bosch- and Siemens-brand dishwashers after the agency received reports that the machines had caused several fires.

The affected dishwashers, recalled on Thursday, retail for approximately $500 to $1,100 and were manufactured by BSH Home Appliances Corp. of Huntington Beach, Calif.

The kitchen equipment was recalled after the agency received incident reports indicating that the dishwashers had caused at least 30 fires resulting in property damage. BSH Home Appliances received a total of 51...
