Judge Nixes Bad Faith Claim V. Aegis In Bond Suit

Law360, New York (January 16, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has tossed a bad faith claim from a suit brought by a unit of Tyco Inc. against Aegis Security Insurance Co., ruling the claim out of bounds in a dispute over a surety bond.

On Thursday, Judge Sylvia Rambo of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania granted the insurer's motion to dismiss the claim from Tyco subsidiary SimplexGrinnell LP's complaint.
