Ex-SEC Whistleblower Chief Heads To Phillips & Cohen

Law360, New York (September 6, 2016, 1:15 PM EDT) -- The former head of the whistleblower program at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has taken a job at Phillips & Cohen LLP, a Washington, D.C., firm that specializes in working with government informants, the firm announced on Tuesday.

Sean McKessy helped establish the SEC's Office of the Whistleblower in 2011 and spurred its growth, the agency said when he stepped down in July. His new firm represented the anonymous foreign resident who earned a $30 million award, the largest to date.
