Travelers Units Deny Heparin Claims Obligations

Law360, New York (January 20, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Two subsidiaries of insurance giant The Travelers Cos. Inc. have filed a lawsuit arguing they are not responsible for claims brought in relation to the contamination of the blood thinner heparin.

In a suit brought Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, the Charter Oak Fire Insurance Co. and Travelers Property Casualty Co. of America asked a judge to declare that they have no obligations for lawsuits brought against American Capital Ltd.
