US Lawmakers Reintroduce Patent Pilot Bills

Law360, New York (January 23, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- U.S. lawmakers have revived efforts to create a pilot program aimed at improving the expertise of federal district judges who hear patent cases.

The dual bills in the House and Senate mark the third attempt to pass patent pilot legislation since 2006. The House passed earlier versions of the bill in both the 109th and 110th Congress, but the legislation did not make it through the Senate.
