Wellinghoff To Push Green Energy As FERC Head

Law360, New York (January 26, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- President Barack Obama has named commissioner Jon Wellinghoff as acting chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, appointing a leader who pledged to focus the agency's work on the need to expand green energy sources.

Wellinghoff, who joined FERC in 2006 following a long career as an energy attorney in private practice, replaces commissioner Joseph T. Kelliher, who stepped down earlier this month.
