Wrigley Shareholders Reach Deal Over Mars Merger

Law360 (January 27, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A settlement in a shareholder class action over the merger between Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co. and Mars Inc., which does not provide any monetary relief for the plaintiffs but requires modification of the merger agreement, has been approved by a Delaware court.

The Court of Chancery of Delaware signed off on the pact on Thursday, overruling the objections of a single shareholder who asked that the settlement be blocked because of the lack of a financial award to the plaintiffs.
