Spain Responds To E.C. Request For Info In Endesa Sale

Law360, New York (August 10, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Commission has received a response from Spain after asking the government to explain the conditions it imposed on the proposed takeover of Spanish energy company Endesa by German utility E.On.

Although the E.C. did not elaborate on the contents of the response, a Spanish official familiar with the investigation told Dow Jones that the E.C. is likely to initiate infringement procedures against Spain’s competition authority.
