Averting The March Toward Unionization

Law360 (January 27, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA), which may become law under the new president, would make it far easier for workers to form unions, and far more difficult for employers to discourage them.

But even if the bill is not enacted, there may still be a significant increase in labor organizing. The downturn in the economy has many workers worried about their jobs, and they may understandably look to unions for protection.
