Colo. Lawmakers Reject Delay Of New Drilling Rules

Law360 (January 28, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A Colorado state legislative committee has rejected a bill that would have delayed the implementation of new natural gas and oil drilling environmental rules, leaving opponents little option except to try to modify the rules individually.

On Tuesday, the Colorado Senate Local Government and Energy Committee voted 3-2 against putting off the new regulations, which are set to go into effect in April and May of this year. The bill would have delayed the implementation of the regulations until July 2010.
