USPTO To Take A Look At Deferred Examination

Law360 (January 28, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is looking for feedback on the possibility of instituting a deferred examination process, in which patent examinations could take place several years after an application is filed.

The agency will be holding a roundtable discussion of the issue on Feb. 12 in Alexandria, Va., according to a notice published Wednesday in the Federal Register.
