By Shannon Henson (January 28, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has dismissed two lawsuits in the product liability multidistrict litigation over anti-psychotic medication Seroquel, including one that was scheduled to begin trial next week.
Tony Jewell, a representative for AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP, said that a judge in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida granted the company's motions for summary judgment during a hearing Wednesday.
One of the dismissed cases, a suit brought by Linda Guinn, was selected by plaintiffs counsel to be the first tried, Jewell said. The trial was scheduled to begin Feb. 2.
