Oracle Gets $28M Interest After $50M Rimini IP Trial Win

Law360, Los Angeles (October 12, 2016, 10:49 PM EDT) -- Oracle Corp. on Tuesday was awarded $27.7 million in prejudgment interest to be tacked on to a $50 million jury award and $46 million in fees in connection with the business software giant’s successful copyright infringement suit against software support firm Rimini Street Inc.

In an order issued Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Larry R. Hicks ordered Rimini Street and its CEO Seth Ravin to pay various Oracle entities $27.7 million in prejudgment interest following a Nevada federal jury’s finding last year that Rimini Street infringed Oracle’s copyrighted PeopleSoft documentation and Siebel and J.D.
