Democrats Unveil Revised Import Safety Bill

Law360, New York (January 29, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Democratic lawmakers on Wednesday introduced revised legislation intended to boost the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's ability to monitor food and drug imports in the wake of increasing product safety concerns.

The updated bill, introduced Wednesday in the U.S. House of Representatives, aims to bolster the FDA's regulatory powers and builds on a measure introduced last year by Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich.
