EEI Files Suit Over Being Ousted From Trade Group

Law360, New York (January 29, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Claiming its pending expulsion from a trade organization of education credential evaluators would significantly reduce competition in the field, Education Evaluators International Inc. has filed a declaratory judgment suit against the group in an attempt to invalidate a vote to revoke EEI's membership status.

EEI lodged a complaint Wednesday against the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services Inc., the association's executive director and its membership services chairwoman, accusing the nonprofit umbrella group of engaging in restraint of trade and unfair competition.
