Group Calls For Probe Into Citigroup's Use Of TARP

Law360, New York (January 29, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A corporate ethics group has asked the inspector general of the government's $700 billion bailout program to review Citigroup Inc.'s sponsorship of a congressional trip to the Caribbean Multi-Cultural Business Conference in November.

Citigroup was the lead sponsor, the National Legal and Policy Center says, contributing $100,000. The trip took place in early November, a month after the Troubled Assets Relief Program had been approved by Congress.
