Fla. Judge Rejects Dems' Request To Hurry Voter Verification

By Carolina Bolado (October 20, 2016, 8:19 PM EDT) -- The Florida federal judge who previously extended the state's voter registration deadline because of Hurricane Matthew rejected a request Thursday by the Florida Democratic Party to rush verification of newly registered voters in time for early voting on Monday.

After a hearing in Tallahassee on Thursday, U.S. District Judge Mark E. Walker denied the FDP's request for an emergency motion for an order forcing the state to complete verifying voter registration by Sunday, before the polls open for early voting in several of Florida's most populous cities.
