Waitstaff FLSA Suit Against Star Chef Advances

Law360, New York (February 3, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge burned celebrity chef Roberto Donna on Tuesday, refusing to dismiss class allegations that the chef shortchanges his waitstaff in violation of state and federal wage laws.

Judge Royce C. Lamberth of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia backed the plaintiffs, a group of former waiters and bussers at Donna’s two restaurants, against numerous bids by Donna to have the case tossed, or at least moved to Virginia.
