FTC, Whole Foods Talks Extended

Law360, New York (February 5, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Federal Trade Commission and Whole Foods Market Inc. have extended settlement talks in their protracted fight over the grocer's acquisition of rival Wild Oats Markets Inc.

The FTC said Wednesday that it was further suspending its administrative proceeding against the company until March 6. In late January, the commission agreed to temporarily suspend the case until Thursday to review a settlement proposal from the organic grocery chain.
