SEC Names New Head of Market Regulation

Law360, New York (August 14, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has appointed a “distinguished economist” to serve as the next director of the agency’s division of market regulation.

On Monday, SEC Chairman Christopher Cox named Dr. Erik Sirri to the directorial post, lauding him as an expert in securities market structure.
