Bill Would Loosen CPSIA For Small Businesses

Law360 (February 5, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., has introduced a bill that would ease requirements for small businesses under the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008, which is set to take effect next week.

The bill, introduced Wednesday, would push implementation of the new law, currently slated for Feb. 10, back six months, DeMint said on his Web site. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has already voted to delay implementation of some provisions of the law.
