Swiss Re Probed Over Fannie, Freddie Disclosure

Law360, New York (February 6, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- SIX Swiss Exchange Ltd. is looking into a possible violation of its rules by Swiss Reinsurance Co. Ltd., but Swiss Re said the investigation stemmed from disclosures it made back in July about risk exposure to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and that it was confident it did nothing wrong.

The Swiss securities exchange said it was investigating potential violation of “Art. 72 of the Listing Rules” and the Directive on Ad Hoc Publicity, in connection to information given to investors and analysts regarding risk exposures....
