Obama Executive Orders — 'Paying His Union Dues'

Law360 (February 6, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- In what some commentators have referred to as the president “paying his union dues” following significant support from organized labor during the recent election, President Barack Obama signed three executive orders on Jan. 30, 2009, relating to labor policy and government contracting.

A fourth pro-union executive order was signed a week later, on Feb. 6, 2009. The orders follow the president’s signing of the recent Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act.
