Obama Promotes Unions On Govt. Construction Jobs

Law360, New York (February 9, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Overturning a Bush-era ban and reinforcing his pro-labor agenda, President Obama signed his fourth union-friendly executive order Friday, promoting the use of organized workers on federal construction projects.

The order, which encourages federal agencies to mandate project labor agreements for large-scale construction contracts, undoes a 2001 order by former President Bush and restores a Clinton administration rule.
