Volkswagen Wins Trial Over Alleged Jetta Defects

Law360, New York (February 10, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal jury in Burlington, Vt., has handed down a verdict in favor of Volkswagen AG in a lawsuit brought by a man who was rendered paraplegic after a Volkswagen Jetta he was riding in crashed on Christmas Eve in 2002.

On Monday, a jury in the U.S. District Court for the District of Vermont found that the 1999 Jetta was not in a defective condition when it was manufactured and sold, following a 13-day trial that ended on Friday afternoon.
