Salazar Delays 5-Year Plan For Offshore Drilling

Law360 (February 10, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Interior Secretary Ken Salazar has delayed a U.S. Department of the Interior five-year plan for offshore oil and gas development in order to examine its environmental impacts, in his latest rebuke of one of the Bush administration's "midnight regulations."

The secretary criticized the Bush administration's plan for offering scant or out-of-date information on the resources available offshore, and for not allowing enough time for public comment on the five-year plan.
