FDA Nabs $4M In Milk Powder, Citing Salmonella Concerns

Law360, New York (December 1, 2016, 2:10 PM EST) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has seized more than 4 million pounds of milk powder from a Virginia dairy producer after an investigation turned up poor sanitary conditions and the possible presence of salmonella, according to a statement by the agency on Wednesday.

Valley Milk Products LLC, which is owned by the Maryland and Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative Association Inc., was forced to hand over nearly $4 million worth of dry nonfat milk and buttermilk powder after allegedly refusing to recall the products voluntarily, according...
