Microsoft Wins Case Vs. Lindows In The Netherlands

Law360, New York (January 30, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- Microsoft’s trademark litigation against Lindows OS will effectively wipe out the software platform in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg after an Amsterdam court ruled in the software giant’s favor.

Dutch IT company De Vries Computer Systems (DVCS) was the first European distributor of Lindows OS, a Linux based operational system.

Microsoft started legal actions against DVCS in November 2003 and won a lawsuit Thursday which bars the sale of the infringing products.
