Scruggs Enters Another Guilty Plea For Bribery

Law360, New York (February 11, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Already in prison for bribery, infamous plaintiffs attorney Richard “Dickie” Scruggs has pled guilty to trying to sway another Mississippi judge by promising to get him a federal bench appointment with the help of Scruggs' brother-in-law, former Sen. Trent Lott.

On Tuesday, Scruggs appeared at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi, admitting that he engaged in a scheme to bribe Judge Bobby DeLaughter in exchange for a favorable ruling in an asbestos case.
